## What it is
A recorded introduction to the state licensing office's Technical Support Program: free, voluntary one-on-one help for providers meeting licensing rules.

## 3 things to know
- TSP is part of the state licensing office but is not enforcement. Its analysts don't issue citations, and help is free. [presenter said at 00:07:53, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:08:07, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:08:44, not independently confirmed]
- Any new or existing provider can get help. Ask your Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) to refer you to TSP. [presenter said at 00:11:42, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:11:55, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:19:01, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:19:13, not independently confirmed]
- Taking part is voluntary, and TSP visits are always scheduled with you ahead of time, never unannounced. [presenter said at 00:15:39, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:16:38, not independently confirmed]

## What to do
- To get one-on-one help, talk to your Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) about being referred to TSP. Referrals come through your local regional office. [presenter said at 00:19:01, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:19:13, not independently confirmed]
- Look up TSP's resource guides and quarterly newsletters on the Community Care Licensing website. The presenters said the guides can be used to train staff. [presenter said at 00:19:41, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:19:54, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:20:12, not independently confirmed]
- Sign up with your email address to get Provider Information Notices (PINs), which is how future TSP webinars are announced. [presenter said at 00:21:30, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:21:52, not independently confirmed]

## Welcome and how the webinar works
- The presenters said the links in the presentation are in the PowerPoint, and the recording would be posted on the Community Care Licensing Division website. [presenter said at 00:00:03, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:00:09, not independently confirmed]
- Questions went in the Q&A box and were answered out loud at the end, only for questions about the Technical Support Program. No written answers were given. [presenter said at 00:02:22, not independently confirmed]

## Presenters
- Chris Jackson introduced himself as TSP's child care analyst for Northern California. He worked in child care and as a licensing analyst before joining TSP. [presenter said at 00:04:20, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:03:46, not independently confirmed]
- The second presenter, Mike, is an analyst in TSP's residential technical support unit, based in Southern California. [presenter said at 00:06:37, not independently confirmed]

## What TSP is
- TSP is part of the CDSS Community Care Licensing Division. It provides services and products to help providers meet licensing requirements. [presenter said at 00:07:53, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:08:00, not independently confirmed]
- TSP is not enforcement. Unlike your LPA, a TSP analyst does not issue citations. [presenter said at 00:08:07, not independently confirmed]
- TSP services are free. [presenter said at 00:08:44, not independently confirmed]
- Services can include consultations, assessments, training, tools and sharing resources. [presenter said at 00:08:49, not independently confirmed]
- TSP analysts include former licensing analysts (LPAs), certified administrators and facility directors. [presenter said at 00:09:16, not independently confirmed]

## Examples of what TSP can help with
- The presenter said this is not a complete list. Examples: organizing staff records, understanding staff training rules, and building a training plan, which may include a training calendar. [presenter said at 00:10:00, not independently confirmed]
- Understanding and meeting incident reporting requirements. [presenter said at 00:10:29, not independently confirmed]
- Food service requirements and emergency and disaster planning. [presenter said at 00:10:36, not independently confirmed]
- Getting ready for inspections under the Compliance and Regulatory Enforcement (CARE) tool, the licensing office's newer inspection process. [presenter said at 00:10:52, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:11:04, not independently confirmed]

## Who can use TSP
- Services are open to any new or existing provider. [presenter said at 00:11:42, not independently confirmed]
- If you see problems at your facility and want support, you can ask your LPA to refer you. [presenter said at 00:11:55, not independently confirmed]

## How a one-on-one engagement works
- An engagement is one or more virtual or on-site visits, or a mix of both. [presenter said at 00:12:59, not independently confirmed]
- It usually starts with a consultation by phone or virtual meeting to talk about your challenges and set goals. Your analyst then builds a support plan for your needs. [presenter said at 00:13:08, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:13:42, not independently confirmed]
- How many follow-up meetings you have depends on how much support you need. Engagements also depend on your willingness to work on the agreed goals. [presenter said at 00:14:01, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:14:37, not independently confirmed]
- TSP visits are always announced and scheduled with you. Your analyst tells your LPA and regional office when TSP will be at your facility. [presenter said at 00:15:39, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:16:00, not independently confirmed]
- Taking part is voluntary, and any party can end the engagement at any time. [presenter said at 00:16:38, not independently confirmed]
- At the end, the analyst writes a final report with the training, resources and recommendations given. The presenter said the analyst follows up about six months later. [presenter said at 00:17:03, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:17:23, not independently confirmed]
- You can still contact your analyst with questions after the engagement ends. [presenter said at 00:17:46, not independently confirmed]

## How to get TSP help
- TSP services come through a referral from your local regional office. Talk to your LPA about being referred. [presenter said at 00:19:01, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:19:13, not independently confirmed]

- TSP writes resource guides on several topics, posted on the Community Care Licensing website, which can be used to train staff. [presenter said at 00:19:41, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:19:54, not independently confirmed]
