## Water safety (PIN 23-17-CCLD)

## When a child has symptoms of illness (CDPH)
- All of the information is in PIN 23-18-CCP (since replaced by PIN 25-07-CCP). The presenter said the guidance applies to both child care and K-12 schools. [presenter said at 00:29:02, not independently confirmed]
- The general guidance layers strategies: vaccination, better indoor air quality, masks, hygiene and handwashing, staying home when sick, reporting disease to local public health, cleaning, and testing. [presenter said at 00:30:01, not independently confirmed]
- The symptoms guidance is a set of recommendations, not new requirements; you do not have to use it, and Title 22 requirements still apply. [presenter said at 00:31:21, not independently confirmed; presenter said at 00:34:19, not independently confirmed]
- If you know the diagnosis, follow medical providers or the local health department. The guidance is for when you do not know the cause. [presenter said at 00:32:12, not independently confirmed]
- Step 1: decide if it is an emergency; if so, follow emergency protocols. Step 2: consider whether the child can take part, even with the sniffles, and how much care and staff time the child needs. A table then summarizes symptoms with general recommendations.
